【About Workshop】
You can also learn about the culture and history of Rakugo. Rakugo is a world of imagination. Rakugo uses only two props to express various things. You will also gain a deeper understanding of these props through this experience.
We also hold workshops using traditional Japanese instruments, the shamisen and taiko drums.

【English Rakugo Performer Sayohime】
Sayohime is one of a handful of performers specializing in English-language rakugo, having been bringing traditional Japanese storytelling to audiences in Japan and around the world since 2002. With a deep passion for cultural exchange and humor that transcends language, she elevates classic rakugo into a captivating and accessible experience for audiences worldwide.
As an English educator and rakugo performer, she blends rich cultural insight with expressive acting to make centuries-old Japanese comedy both entertaining and meaningful. She has performed in major U.S. cities (including New York and San Francisco), New Zealand, and multiple venues across Japan.

【Ttsugaru Shamisen Player Chiyo】
Chiyo is a captivating Tsugaru shamisen performer based in Osaka whose performances leave audiences deeply impressed by the powerful sound she draws from her instrument despite her petite stature. Her dynamic playing showcases the robust and energetic character of the Tsugaru shamisen—a traditional three-stringed Japanese instrument known for its rhythmic intensity and expressive range.
Her music embodies both tradition and personal expression, making her performances unforgettable for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Japanese traditional music.
