“HIBARI” was created by the late Lynne Taylor-Corbett, a choreographer who made her mark on Broadway and around the world, inspired by a documentary about Hibari Misora and driven by a strong desire to “create a stage production that pays tribute to her.”

Combining Hibari Misora’s many classic songs with the refined dance of the NBA Ballet Company and visual projections, the production portrays her life story within a stage space that transcends time and space.

In this production, Midori Oka serves as the narrator, guiding the audience into the world of the show.

The production is structured in four sections, expressing her life journey—from childhood to becoming one of Japan’s greatest stars—along with the sorrow, suffering, joy, and brilliance she experienced along the way, all set to her timeless songs.

It is a deeply moving experience, as if Hibari Misora herself were standing on stage.
