■Overview
Toward a landscape without borders.

Shimokitazawa was once divided by a railway running above ground — a border that separated not only the flow of people but the movement of culture. As the tracks went underground and the “crossing that never opened” disappeared, the town became far more walkable and connected.

Now that the town is physically connected, our next goal is a landscape where the borders between people, between people and the town, and between different cultures are gently crossed as well.

Theater, music, film, books, vintage clothing, and richly individual shops and eateries — Shimokita has layered many cultures to create an atmosphere all its own. When they meet and mingle across genres and positions, new expression and new relationships are born. We want to realize such moments across the whole town.

Moon Art Night Shimokitazawa started as an art festival that draws this “landscape without borders” from a newly connected town.

A giant moon — the symbol of Moon Art Night Shimokitazawa.

The moon evokes space and science fiction for some, and moon-viewing, rabbits, or “tsukimi” foods for others.

Universal to everyone, the moon is a “free and generous presence” that refuses a single way of being seen or felt.

That somehow echoes the town of Shimokita — where many cultures and values mingle without converging on one right answer, each individuality accepted as it is. The moon, too, symbolizes that Shimokita air.

Beyond the symbolic “moon” artworks, Moon Art Night turns normally off-limits places, overlooked parking lots, and vacant lots into outdoor exhibition venues that color the town.

Enjoy a new kind of art festival — with limited-time gourmet, events, and experiences you can only savor during this period.

At reception, you will receive a wristband that grants access to various experiences and services.

●Special Moon Art Viewing & Sparkler Experience
　Every day during the event, from 20:00 to 21:30, entry is limited to ticket holders, allowing you to leisurely view the moon art and enjoy sparklers!
　*Venue: Shimokita Senrogai Akichi
　*Sparklers will only be distributed from 21:00 to 21:10.

●Art Viewing & Stargazing at Higashi-Kitazawa Station Rooftop
　The Higashi-Kitazawa Station rooftop (outside ticket gates), normally inaccessible to the public, will be specially opened.
　View a new artwork by internationally acclaimed artist Teppei Kaneuji, and join the daily stargazing event held throughout the festival period.

●Exclusive Collaboration Food Discounts
　Enjoy event-exclusive dishes at 11 participating restaurants, with discounts of up to 200 yen! Available for repeated use throughout the event period.
