Detail

Making their debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, every performance from opening night to the final day was SOLD OUT!
The show received five stars from the British Theatre Guide and four stars from The Scotsman, generating buzz across numerous reviews. In addition, it was recognized by the ASIAN ART AWARDS and won the prestigious Mervyn’s Spirit of the Fringe Award, a historic prize selected from all Fringe productions!
Shoulderpads is a theatre company founded by Japanese performers Chobi Natsuki and Maruichiro Maruo, who have been active in Japan for over 25 years. Their original musical expresses universal themes such as life and death, loneliness, farewells, and journeys through the world’s smallest costume—two shoulder pads sewn together.
You may find yourself bursting out laughing at their wriggling behinds, only to realize at the end that hot tears are streaming down your cheeks!
