Tanigawa is the only Ochaya remaining in the Minami area,around Dotonbori River,of Osaka,where the Geiko[Geisya are known as geiko in western Japan]culture once flourished alomg with the theater culture.
Osaka's Hanamachi [geiko district]was very prosperous from the middle of the Edo period,there were 2000 geiko in Osaka and it was the biggest hanamachi at the time in all over Japan.

Ochaya literally means[tea house]but it is quite different from a cafe oe tea house in Western culture.
In Ochaya,we provide discreetly set up private rooms and arrange traditional Japanese style parties.

At these parties,guesuts enjoy food and drinks,and spend time with Geiko.
This is a great way to deeply experience traditional Japanese culture while relaxing and enjoying a night out.
