Is being good at art a talent? Are those who go to art school geniuses?
No, it’s the result of daily hard work, continually moving hands and minds. There are rules to art that lead to recognized pieces. Even accepted artwork has its criteria. However, rules and criteria alone do not define the entirety of the art world.
The manga “Blue Period” tells the story of high school student Yatora and his friends, who immerse themselves in the uncertain world of art, depicting their struggles and growth.
In this exhibition, various projects will bring visitors closer to the world of “Blue Period,” including reproductions of artwork from the manga, immersive theaters, and explanations of famous paintings. Additionally, there will be displays recreating the first-round exam venue at the art school. A corner introducing the manga’s original creator, Tsugumi Yamaguchi-sensei, will showcase color original works that were not exhibited in the Tokyo venue.
The encounter with the new “Blue Period” and the introduction to new art is about to begin.
