●Special viewing of the main hall
The opportunity to step inside the main hall of Myokakuji Temple is limited to a few special viewings per year. It is extremely rare to be able to enter this historic space, and it is sure to be a special experience!
An English audio guide is included, and you can fully experience the solemn atmosphere of the main hall, tour the sacred space and take photos while wearing the hakama.

Head temple: Myokakuji Temple
It was founded in Shijo Omiya in 4 during the Muromachi period.
During the Sengoku period, it had a large site similar to that of Myoken-ji Temple, and its vast building is depicted in the National Treasure "Rakuchu Rakugaizu byobu."

Up until the time of Nobunaga, it was the residence of many people, including the 13th shogun, Ashikaga Yoshiteru, Oda Nobunaga, and Date Masamune, and tea ceremonies were held here by Sen no Rikyu. Even today, there are many things to see, such as the Obon Gosho, a nationally designated important cultural property, the Kahodo Hall (*a Kyoto Prefecture designated tangible cultural property) with its door paintings by the Kano school, and three gardens with different styles.
