ANTIPIOL

Detail

The title of this performance, “Antipiol,” is the name of an ointment that was actually used on swellings at the hospital in the book “Diary of a Schizophrenic Girl.” The girl calls the voice she hears in hallucinations while hospitalized for mental illness Mr. Antipiol. She fights against Antipiol, a voice that mocks and commands her. I believe that not only she, but everyone can have emotions they don’t understand, repressed feelings, traumas, and other things inside them that can appear like Antipiol at some point.
